Automatically geolocating photos with camera with GPS onboard

nirudia-en 07/12/2007 @ 19:06

If you have a camera with a built-in GPS, it will record in the EXIF headers the information on the position where the photography was taken, so if you then upload that photo to Nirudia, you won't have to do any more to geolocate it, because our system will do that job by means of the data given by the GPS.

This kind of cameras is not common for now,but we'll begin to see them shortly.

Ricoh 500 SE camera has a GPS inside wich grabs the data into the photo's EXIF header.

A few mobile phones that do have a camera and a GPS builts-in, do it that way too.

Nirudia in Portuguese

nirudia-en 06/12/2007 @ 16:50

We already have a version of Nirudia in Portuguese, Pessoa's language.

Fernando Zamith has translated it, as he did with Nireblog.

We hope that soon there will be a lot of pictures from Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, Timor and all places where Portuguese is spoken.

Bem-vindo Nirudia em português.
